Heat and grit
We use short-wave technology because it hits hard and fast. We push for high-wattage output for a reason—it keeps the surface of the unit dry. By keeping the outer casing hot, moisture can’t even find a place to cling to. Plus, we didn’t use cheap metals. The reflectors are made from corrosion-resistant alloys. That way, the humidity doesn’t just eat through the housing in a few months.
The trade-off
The best part? You can wire these right into your wet zones. No need to mess around with bulky external shielding or extra boxes. It keeps your workspace clean. But there is a catch. Because we’ve sealed these units so tightly to keep water out, they can’t “breathe” as easily. You’ve got to give them some elbow room. If you cram them into a tight, closed cabinet, the internal drivers will overheat. Just make sure there’s enough clearance for the heat to move, and you’re golden. We built these to take a beating in wash-down areas. It’s all about keeping the electrical path bone-dry so your gear lasts for thousands of cycles, instead of becoming a paperweight after a few weeks.
