Most heaters try to warm up all the air in the room, which takes forever. Ours are different. They send heat straight to your skin and the surfaces around you. It’s an instant hit of warmth. No waiting. No shivering. How we make it “smart” To get these things talking to your smart home hub, we had to ditch the old-school clicky switches. Instead, we use Wi-Fi or Zigbee modules paired with high-current relays. Basically, when you tap a button on your phone, a signal flies through the air, flips a digital switch, and that tungsten filament glows hot in a fraction of a second. It’s almost like magic, but it’s actually just some clever wiring. The power struggle Here is the thing: to get that “instant spring” of heat, you need a lot of power. These units pull a decent amount of juice. If you’re planning to put a few of these in one room, just keep an eye on your wiring. You’ll want to make sure your wires are thick enough to handle the load, otherwise, you’ll be spending your morning resetting the circuit breaker. Dealing with the steam There is a bit of a catch. Electronics and steamy bathrooms usually don’t get along. Adding smart controls means adding delicate circuit boards to a room full of humidity. To stop the moisture from frying everything, we tuck the brains of the heater into IP-rated, sealed enclosures. It keeps the water out so your smart features actually last as long as the heater itself.
